The Things You Make Me Feel

The Things You Make Me Feel

perhaps that

first cup of coffee in the morning

or

how beautiful the ocean looks

at night—

endless and black

full of mermaids

and sharks

and fluorescent coral reefs

i feel ancient creatures

(mythical things)

with their golden hair

outstretched wings

multiple arms

and singular eyes

and then

suddenly

you make me feel the

speed

of a hummingbird’s wings, the

smell

of last night’s perfume, and

all the bricks

that make up a pyramid

i feel you

and

through you

i see how it is:

up ‘til now

things didn’t feel

like much

but with you, baby,

just being is enough
